The Yomogi by Ijuin Rod is no ordinary fiberglass blank. Developed and manufactured in Japan, it stands for a particularly traditional way of fly fishing: slow, sensitive, and with maximum contact to line and fish.

Kazutomo Ijuin developed the Yomogi series with a simple idea: to build a fly rod that above all brings joy. Instead of unnecessary power reserves, the focus is on precisely the power actually needed for fishing. The load transfers harmoniously from the tip deep into the blank, creating the soft, flowing casting feel typical of Yomogi.

Yomogi blanks are made from UD-Glass according to Ijuin-Rod's own design. Especially the 7'0” #3 embodies the philosophy of the series with its distinctively slow full-flex action. The blank loads excellently even at short distances and provides an exceptionally sensitive feel both when casting and when fighting fish.

This is precisely what makes the Yomogi ideal for small to medium trout waters, delicate dry fly fishing, and situations where maximum line speed is not the priority, but rather presentation, rhythm, and casting enjoyment.

Even smaller fish make the blank visibly work, while the progressive power development in the lower section provides enough reserves for stronger trout.

Japanese design with its own character

The name Yomogi refers to a plant widespread in Japan, whose characteristic green hue inspired the color of the series. Thus, the blank combines traditional Japanese aesthetics with a modern interpretation of classic fiberglass rods.

For rod builders, the Yomogi offers an exceptional basis for an individual fiberglass build – classic with cork, wood, and fine silk wraps, or consciously modern in its interpretation.
