The Diamondback Generation IV Nymph Fly Rod Blanks are among the most exciting blanks for building modern nymphing rods. Developed by Diamondback rod designer Joe Goodspeed, the series ranges from the ultra-fine Euro Nymphing blank in class #1 to powerful models for large trout, steelhead, huchen, and salmon.

It wasn't simply the same blank produced in different lengths and line classes. Each model has an action and stress profile specifically tailored to its intended use.

Nano-reinforced Carbon – light, sensitive, and powerful

The Generation IV is made from Nano-Resin Carbon Fiber. This construction combines high strength with low weight and a very direct, sensitive action.

Special attention has been paid to the extremely light and sensitive tip sections. Even the slightest contacts when nymph fishing can be felt, while the progressive backbone of the respective models provides the necessary control during the fight.

10'0" #1 – Maximum Finesse

For Micro Nymphing, finest leaders, and cautious trout

The finest blank in the Generation IV series. Developed for the smallest nymphs, extremely thin leaders, and situations where the most sensitive presentation is crucial.

The blank loads with very little stress, allowing for controlled presentation of extremely light nymphs. At the same time, the sensitive action provides excellent protection for the finest tippets.

The #2 offers significantly more versatility than the uncompromising #1 model, without losing its delicate character.

Small to medium nymphs and light multi-fly rigs can be controlled excellently. At the same time, the blank can also be fished with a true #2 fly line.

Ideal for rod builders who want to build a light and sensitive Euro Nymphing rod but are looking for a bit more range of application.

With a true #3 fly line, the rod can also be cast conventionally.

One blank – incredibly many possibilities.

The 10'7" #3 combines the reach of a modern nymphing rod with enough power reserves for larger trout and a variety of techniques.

Light and medium nymph rigs work just as well as dry-droppers, small indicator rigs, or jig streamers up to about hook size #6–8.

This model is therefore excellently suited for rod builders who want to build a universal long-nymphing rod.

The 10'7" #4 was developed for larger nymphs, jig streamers, and big trout in strong rivers. The blank has significantly more power in the lower section and can control correspondingly stronger leaders and larger flies.

Nevertheless, the sensitivity typical for the Generation IV is maintained.

The #6 leaves the realm of classic trout nymphing and opens the Generation IV to significantly larger target fish.

Ideal for steelhead, large trout, carp, smaller salmon, and huchen.

Even a single nymph with a 2.5mm bead is enough to make the blank work. At the same time, significantly larger flies up to approximately hook size #2 can be used.

The extra length offers excellent conditions for mending, line control, and roll casts at a distance.
